Product Liability is the non-contractual liability of the manufacturer towards anybody for damage or injury caused by its defective products. Liability on the part of the manufacturer can result from the Product Liability Act and also from the general liability of a producer.

In its decision of 28 February 2019, the OLG Frankfurt decided that the instructions for use required under Section 3 (4) of the ProdSG must be attached to the product in German, but not necessarily in paper form (OLG Frankfurt, Urt. v. 28.02.2019 - 6 U 181/17).
